What is a Nol card?

A Nol card is a smart card used for paying transport fares in Dubai. It can be used on the metro, buses, water buses, and parking meters.

How long is a Nol card valid for?

Nol cards are valid for 5 years from the date of issue. The expiry date is printed on the back of your card.

What types of Nol cards are available?

There are four types of Nol cards: Red (for tourists), Silver (regular), Gold (premium), and Blue (personalized).

Card Usage

How do I use my Nol card?

Simply tap your card on the card reader at metro gates, bus entrances, or parking meters. The fare will be automatically deducted.

What is the minimum balance required?

You need a minimum balance of 7.5 AED for metro and bus travel. For parking, the minimum balance varies by zone.

Can I share my Nol card?

Yes, Silver and Red Nol cards can be shared. However, Blue cards are personalized and should only be used by the registered cardholder.

Recharge & Balance

How can I recharge my Nol card?

You can recharge your card online through our website, at metro stations, bus stations, RTA customer happiness centers, and authorized retail outlets.

What is the maximum recharge amount?

The maximum amount you can load on a Nol card is 500 AED. The minimum recharge amount is 20 AED.

How long does it take for online recharge to reflect?

Online recharges are usually instant. However, it may take up to 24 hours in some cases.

Lost & Damaged Cards

What should I do if I lose my card?

Report the loss immediately through our website or customer service. For registered Blue cards, the balance can be transferred to a new card.

Can I get a replacement for a damaged card?

Yes, bring your damaged card to any RTA customer happiness center for a replacement. A fee may apply.

How can I protect my card balance?

Register your card online or opt for a Blue card for enhanced security and balance protection.
